The collector has travelled around the world for many many years as an engineer and has developped many contacts to people and their culture in numerous countries all around the globe.
During the last 45 years, he managed to collect more than 2,750 pieces – wooden spoons exclusively – which each for his own, respresents regional art and culture. It has become a collection of spoons, made for various purposes (not only to eat or drink, but also memorial spoons, lovespoons, ritual spoons etc.), showing insights in art, folklore, culture and tradition of many regions, people and nations.
Each and every spoon from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas has been captured in a well documented software package, including interesting background informations about those rare objects. This PC with all its software is part of this sale, as well as all literature, documents, certificates and show-cases.
